We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. We seek to make your visit worthwhile by providing you with all the information needed to make an informed decision about your orthodontic care.
Your 60 minute consultation appointment will progress as follows:
1) For the first 10-15 minutes our skilled orthodontic assistants will capture high quality digital diagnostic images, typically consisting of digital photos, panoramic and cephalometric images. These images are crucial to a thorough diagnosis of your particular orthodontic problem and proper treatment planning.
2) The next 5-10 minutes are spent with our Treatment Coordinator when we will begin to explore your chief concern, any relevant background information, and what you would like orthodontic treatment to accomplish.
3) For the next 15-20 minutes, Dr. Dunn will perform a thorough examination and diagnosis which our Treatment Coordinator will enter into our sophisticated Dolphin Imaging and Management orthodontic software. Dr. Dunn will then review all of your digital images with you and explain the diagnosis in detail. After you have a complete overview of any orthodontic needs you may have, Dr. Dunn will discuss the treatment plan he believes would be best for you, the ideal timing and any alternative plans that are possible. At this point we encourage you to ask any and all questions you may have. Dr. Dunn strives to live up to the meaning of "doctor" which is "to teach".
4) Finally, our Treatment Coordinator will spend the remaining 15-20 minutes presenting our Dolphin Aquarium videos. These videos provide a great visual illustration of your treatment for the purpose of increasing your familiarity and comfort. She will then discuss the professional fees associated with your treatment and any payment options available. Appointments to initiate treatment can also be scheduled at this point if desired.
In order to make the most of the time we've allowed ourselves, please assist us by completing and submitting the online patient information form prior to your appointment. Also, if you have orthodontic insurance, please bring your insurance card with you. By providing this information, we will be able to give you a better estimate of your costs.
We have invested heavily in our diagnostic and treatment planning protocols in order to provide you with accurate and timely information. This allows us to reduce the number of pre-treatment appointment visits necessary, all to save you time and hassle.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
